The NOVA KIRA 18 SC is an 18-inch passive subwoofer designed specifically for corner installation. Its triangular enclosure allows mounting where two room surfaces meet, including wall and ceiling corners. When installed in a corner, the adjacent surfaces provide acoustic loading similar to a large horn, increasing efficiency and extending low-frequency performance down to 25 Hz.
The subwoofer uses a heavy-duty 18-inch driver with a 4-inch voice coil and is rated at 1,000 W RMS into 8 ohms. A matching controller preset is used to balance the upper bass response when the cabinet is installed with corner loading.
The included metal mounting frame is fitted with rubber pads for acoustic decoupling from walls and ceilings. The frame can also be used as a drilling template: it is fixed to the installation surface first, after which the KIRA 18 SC is inserted and secured in the frame.
The enclosure is built from 15 mm birch plywood with a black textured finish. A front steel grille is backed with acoustically transparent charcoal-coloured foam. Two rear speakON (NL4) connectors provide signal input and link connections.
